Because my research and teaching interests include multimodal composing, I have included two videos I made as a graduate student to represent projects that I might assign my own students. Other multimodal texts can be found under “Select Publications.”
This is a short film I made to represent technology throughout various stages of my life. The film is an assemblage of found and recorded sounds, songs, and moving images to make a visual and aural argument that technology is often ubiquitous and cacophonous, and that it is a mix of the digital and analog. I used a Canon EOS Rebel to film, Adobe Premier to edit, xstockvideo.com for the found film clips, and FreeSound.org for the found aural clips. The song “Turn Down the Sound” is used with permission from artist Adrian Young.
This is a video of a writing instructor using technology and student-centered teaching as aspects of her pedagogy. I used a Canon EOS Rebel to film and Adobe Premier to edit the film. The song “Calling Back” is used with permission from the band Hockey.
